When Microsoft FreeCell became very popular during the 1990s, the Internet FreeCell Project attempted to solve all the deals by crowdsourcing consecutive games to specific people. The project ran from August 1994 to April 1995, and only #11982 proved unwinnable. Out of the current Microsoft Windows games, eight are unsolvable. I play Freecell faily regularly and, nerdish or not, I like to select the number of the game I want to play. On the old system (Windows 7 and earlier), it was very easy by FileSelect Game. However, I can't find any way of doing that on the Windows 10 version.

To launch the game, select Play. You can always launch the game from the product page, but there's an easier way--pin it.

• With the game open, press and hold (or right-click) the game button on your taskbar and select Pin to taskbar . When you close the game, the button will still be there.

• Select the Start button, then scroll down to Microsoft Solitaire Collection, press and hold (or right-click) the tile, and select Pin to Start . It'll be available on the Start menu.
